Tax Regional Manager
The Tax Regional Manager is responsible for the daily operations of a Regional Tax Office. A manager will plan, assign, supervise and coordinate the daily workflow of Revenue Agents. Manage office and field-based workers and ensure that staff are being productive and are providing maximum results for the Tax Division. Interpret and apply state tax laws, rules, and departmental policies and procedures. Answer taxpayer questions and respond to various correspondences from tax professionals, attorneys and Certified Public Accountants. Review and evaluate applications for Offers in Compromises, payment plans and waiver requests.
A Tax Regional Manager must be able to exercise independent judgment in recommending and initiating actions necessary to carry out responsibilities delegated by the immediate supervisor. Work collaboratively with other employees both in Compliance and in other divisions to work towards a common goal of collecting delinquent taxes in a fair and efficient manner. Completes Employee Performance Appraisals per our departmental policy and is responsible for the training of new Revenue Agents.
Provide prompt, courteous customer service to all customers. Schedule field work logistically to maximize effectiveness and minimize travel expenditures. Work with management to develop innovative ideas to close collection cases in the most efficient manner possible. A Regional Tax Manager will need to be able to review payment plans, manage collection cases, manage bank and wage levies, and make necessary account adjustments.
Assist and provide necessary support in the civil seizures of business properties and assets. Provide support to the Executive Enforcement Team whenever necessary. Help implement new technology that the Tax Division implements such as, online appointment schedulers, automated Offer in Compromise systems, automated payment plan portals and new electronic payment options such as recurring payment plans.
Performs related work as required.

Failing to initiate the process or cooperate with this process, providing false or incomplete information, or discovery of disqualifying information will result in denial of, or dismissal from, employment or denial of transfer irrespective of when discovered. The chosen applicant will also be subject to a tax compliance check.
